A poem for Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, known as a Crown Jewel of the National Wildlife Refuge System.  If any funding for a border wall is approved by Congress, Santa Ana is the Trump administration’s first target. Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge is the largest remaining remnant of a globally rare ecosystem essential to migrating birds, butterflies, and a suite of endangered species.

If Congress funds the new border wall, Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge will be the first to fall. This is what we have to lose.
